Why dont i see a bbm contacts recent updates

I'm using BBM 5.0 and when I update my status on my end, people don't see it on theirs.. WHEN I DID IT, IT ERASED ALL MY BBM CONTACTS FROM MY BBM LIST.

If they are not showing now, I don't know. since I've downloaded the new version bbm I cannot see. within a few minutes I noticed my BBM contacts start to update.
